Hunterfield Riding School is a small, owner-run yard set in the rolling fields between Athelstaneford and Haddington. Group and private lessons, half and full day courses, lunge sessions, and special events for riders of every age and stage.

Hunterfield is a small, owner-run riding school based on the Kilduff House Estate, just outside the historic village of Athelstaneford. The yard sits next door to Kilduff Farm, between Athelstaneford and Haddington, and is a short drive from North Berwick.
Jenny opened Hunterfield to share her own horses with riders in East Lothian who want proper, structured tuition without the bustle of a large commercial centre. Lessons are kept small, the horses are well known to her, and the approach is calm, patient and built around the rider in front of her.

Whether you have never sat on a horse or you are working on your canter transitions, there is a place for you here.
One-to-one tuition, 30 or 45 minutes. Ideal for new riders, returning riders, or anyone working on a specific skill.
Small ability-matched groups, 30 or 45 minutes. Great for steady progress and learning alongside other riders.
Three hours of riding, horse care and stable management. A proper immersive session in the yard.
Five hours covering riding, grooming, tacking, stable management and the rhythm of life on a working yard.
Three hour sessions designed for children, blending riding with hands-on horse care and a healthy dose of fun.
Focused 30 minute lunge work to build position, balance and confidence under Jenny’s direct coaching.

Less than 48 hours notice: a £20 fee will be charged.
Less than 24 hours notice or no notice: the full lesson fee will be charged.

You will usually start with a private lesson so Jenny can put you on the right horse and check fit, hat sizing and confidence.
Most riders settle into a regular weekly slot. Group lessons and longer courses are added once you and the horse are well matched.
Half and full day courses, children special events and East Lothian Pony Club opportunities are there when you are ready to do more.
